If you're unable to edit or change text in CapCut, it's usually because the text track isn't selected or the app is experiencing a temporary issue. Follow the steps below based on the platform you're using. 📍 If you still can't edit or modify text after trying these steps, please contact our support team with your project details so we can assist you further.
On CapCut Online
- Click the text element on the canvas or timeline to select it.
- Use the text editing panel on the right side to modify the text.
- Refresh the page and try again.
- Make sure your browser is updated and stable.
On CapCut PC
If you cannot edit text on a PC, try the following:
- Click the text layer directly in the timeline to make sure it is selected.
- Open the Text or Inspector panel to edit the content.
- Restart CapCut and try again.
- Go to Settings > Version > Check for updates to make sure you're using the latest version.
On the CapCut Mobile App
First, make sure the correct text track is selected:
- Tap Text.
- Select the text track you want to edit.
- Tap the text to modify the content.
If the text is still not editable, try these steps:
- Switch your network (Wi-Fi / 4G / 5G) or connect to another Wi-Fi.
- Restart the CapCut app and your phone.
- Close other background apps, then go to CapCut > Settings > Clear cache.
📍 Do not clear CapCut's app data in your system settings, as this will permanently delete local projects.
- Update CapCut from the App Store or Google Play.
📍 Avoid uninstalling and reinstalling CapCut, as this will delete all local projects and cannot be undone.
If the issue continues, go to Settings > Feedback > Give feedback and upload screenshots, videos, or the related project for review. If you are redirected to Smart Chat, type "Feedback", then tap Submit when prompted.
